TME is located in Zapopan, a suburb of Guadalajara, Mexico´s second largest city, in the state of Jalisco, which also has Puerto Vallarta as its main tourist destination. The population in the metropolitan area is 3.5 million.

Chapala, Mexico´s largest lake, is 30 minutes away from our plant. Adjacent to this great lake is the town of Ajijic, which is a very popular location for retired foreigners or simply those who wish to get away from their home towns during winter season. Ajijic´s weather was rated second best in the world by a U.S. magazine in 1995.

Guadalajara, and metropolitan area, is considered by some people as "Mexico´s Silicon Valley" due to the fact that it hosts over 100 "Maquiladoras", term used for companies that manufacture or assemble products using imported components only, or a mix of imported and domestic components. Several of these "Maquiladoras" manufacture electronic components, like Solectron or Flextronics, for companies in foreign countries like U.S.A., Canada, Japan, among others.

Companies such as IBM, Hewlett Packard, Kodak, Lucent Technologies and V-Tech Industries also have plants in the area. This situation helps educate the labor force available in important aspects such as team work, pursuit of corporate goals, order, etc. Skills that we also cherish and demand at TME.

Because of all the flow of products going in and out of this area, the availability and service of reliable freight lines is excellent. When exporting by sea, we have used two ports: Tampico, Tamaulipas (east coast) located 466 miles from Guadalajara,  and Port of Manzanillo, Colima (west coast), which is 200 miles from our plant. When exporting north of our border, by land, the trucks clear customs at Laredo, Texas. We can also use the border with San Diego if it is more appropriate, depending on the destination. To export south, also by land, trucks cross through Ciudad Hidalgo, Chiapas.
